The Velvet Underground – The Quine Tapes is a definitive document of the live Velvet Underground. Captured on tape by Quine in San Francisco and St. Louis between May and December of 1969, the recordings feature the Velvet Underground’s final lineup of Reed, guitarist Sterling Morrison, drummer Moe Tucker and bassist Doug Yule.
Phonography was lo-fi legend R. Stevie Moore’s first vinyl release — only 100 copies were pressed in 1976. The album (including a slightly larger 1978 pressing) barely earned the artist lunch money. But Phonography has since become the cornerstone of the Do-It-Yourself movement, while establishing Moore as the Granddaddy of home recording. Both Rolling Stone and Spin have proclaimed it one of the most influential independent releases of the past 50 years. [COMPLETE INFO]
The Soft MachineVolume Two • HIGH-DEFINITION VINYL LP - $18.98 The aptly titled Volume Two introduced a retooled Soft Machine lineup, with Wyatt and Ratledge joined by bassist Hugh Hopper, an old Canterbury friend who had guested on the first album. The Dick Dale & His Deltones Singles Collection ’61-65 fills a crucial void in the Dick Dale catalog: collected here are 28 wild ‘n killer single sides from the Deltone and Capitol labels, featuring rare 45-only tracks and unique mono single versions of such iconic Dale classics as "Let's Go Trippin'," "Miserlou," "The Wedge," "Mr. Eliminator," "Secret Surfin' Spot" and his legendary theme song, "King of the Surf Guitar." [MORE]
In the half-century since he began his reign as King of the Surf Guitar, Dick Dale has remained one of rock’s most innovative and influential axemen. A bold pioneer in the use of speed, volume and sonic texture, the charismatic Dale invented surf music, and in the process permanently altered the role of the electric guitar in rock ’n’ roll. [MORE]
Any doubts that Dick Dale could duplicate the frenzied attack of his previous LP, the wildly successful Surfers' Choice, are completely erased. Whatever style of music; R&B, folk or pop - Dale tosses into his sharp-bladed, slice 'n' dice music machine, it comes out pure surf, absolutely smoking-hot and the perfect accompaniment to your next beach-side stomp and frug session. [MORE]
Sundazed is making Dick Dale’s reverb-soaked, genius LPs available once again, the way they were meant to be heard: on vinyl. Checkered Flag is heavy with white-hot Dale instrumentals ("Night Rider," "Ho-Dad Machine") and vocal car tunes from the pens of pop's songwriters (Gary Usher, Gary Paxton, Carol Connors). [MORE]
Whether its the fuel-injected, AA-gas thrills of the LP's title track, the south of the border shake and shimmy of "Taco Wagon" or the heroic guitar avalanche of "The Victor," Dick Dale and his Del-tones know what every Friday-afternoon kegger needs just as much as an unlimited supply of suds: the breathtaking excitement where the drag slicks meet the road, compliments of the slashing, reverbed-guitar genius of the king of hot rod, Dick Dale! [MORE]
Our vinyl restoration of the vintage Dale catalog features Summer Surf, Dale's superb 1964 collection. It's just the ticket for chasing those wintertime blues, as the man who single-handedly invented the genre cuts loose with what he does best. [MORE]

YoungbloodsEarth Music(Mono Edition) • HIGH-DEFINITION VINYL LP - $16.98 The Youngbloods’ sophomore release Earth Music is an uncommonly solid follow-up, expanding upon the musical directions introduced on their debut LP. The infectious “Sugar Babe” (also featured in Michelangelo Antonioni’s film Zabriskie Point) is one of the group’s most popular tunes, while such numbers as “All My Dreams Blue,” “Dreamer’s Dream” and “Fool Me” demonstrate the strength of the band members’ songwriting skills...[MORE]
