7" single. Now on Translucent Blue Vinyl!

Although they were little noticed at the time, the International Submarine Band's releases on Lee Hazlewood's LHI label would soon emerge as cornerstones in the small but seminal catalogue of the ISB's leader, Gram Parsons, whose revolutionary rock/country synthesis found its first vehicle in this much-mythologized outfit.

The band's lone LP Safe At Home--recorded before, but released after, Parsons departed to join the Byrds--quickly became a much-sought-after collector's item. Even rarer were the International Submarine Band's two LHI singles. The first, released in February 1968, featured the soon-to-be-classic Parsons originals "Blue Eyes" and "Luxury Liner." The second, pairing covers of the Bobby Bare/Hank Snow hit "Miller's Cave" and Merle Haggard's "I Must Be Somebody Else You've Known," followed in September, two months after Safe At Home's release.

All four of the original ISB singles sides--in their original non-album mono mixes--are collected here. Four decades after their creation, they offer compelling early snapshots of Gram Parsons' immense and enduring talent, and of the band that first delivered his vision to the world.
